Kay’s K9’s

February 4, 2010

I stumbled across these incredible needle felted pet portraits on flickr yesterday and thought they deserved their own post.

These adorable miniature needle felted sculptures are by artist K. Stahler. She specializes in your traditional pets (dogs and cats!) but can also make custom rabbits, horses and other wildlife. They’re absolutely beautiful, itsy bitsy, and so detailed! What a special keepsake of your pet!

They are such tiny tiny works of art! And they genuinely look like these pups. I am so impressed with Kay’s K9’s. She even captured that corgie’s smile!

Check out her website at Kay’s K9’s for more samples of her work, and to see how you can get one of your own!

No More Brown Eye!

Rear Gear

Rear Gear

This made me laugh right out loud! Rear Gear, a shop on etsy has created this…unusual…product to cover the unsightly rear end of your cats and dogs.

I had no idea this was a problem until today.

I have two dogs, and while they do have these body parts, staring at it has never been an issue for me. But I must admit, there are people for every product and this was indeed found in the “recently sold” section of etsy. Props to Rear Gear for finding such a unique…hole…to fill.

They’ve made significant sales and have a trademark pending. They’ve got free shipping and they’re only $2 a piece! Good luck to you Rear Gear!

Chilly Pigs

December 1, 2009

I’m not going to be with my Guinea pigs for their first Christmas this year so I sewed up their gifts and left them behind.

Chilly Pigs!

It’s getting into the heat of summer and those guinea pigs with their long hair can barely stand the heat! We normally put an ice pack in a sock for them to cuddle up to, but I decided for their Christmas gift that I would sew guinea pigs out of towels to put their ice packs in. They’re much more fun to cuddle up to 🙂

Chilly Pigs!

I wish I could be there to see how happy they are with them but I’ll have to wait for photos to come my way!
